Dignity Project

This project supports our local women with donated feminine hygiene products and has helped many women and young women.

Below is a brief outline of who these items have supported.

Young women (aged 12-20)  17

Women (aged 21-40) 11

Elderly women (aged 40+) 8

TOTAL: 36 WOMEN

The majority of these women who we have supported have been those who have recently migrated to Australia.

The barriers they have faced to getting these feminine hygiene products have been;

1. Financial struggles
2. Education, not knowing what to and how to use these products (as in their countries they still used material)
3. The shame of getting them as a male partner is always present with them when they shop
4. Young girls feel ashamed to talk about it with teachers
5. Language barrier (not knowing what to say)

The women we have supported to date come from different backgrounds

1. Afghanistan
2. India
3. Australia
4. China
5. Ukraine
6. Turkey
7. Pakistan

With the help of the Victorian Government and other amazing donors and supporters, this project is making a great deal of difference to many women and as a result of this, the ensuing conversations and education are amazing.
